Harness note
Agent marketing stack glossary
We scored 14 agent marketing stacks on MCP and API coverage, on-brand design, and whether the agent can send. Brew leads for SaaS, modern teams and teams using agents. Klaviyo leads ecommerce. Resend stays for raw transactional sends.
We scored 14 agent marketing stacks on MCP and API coverage, on-brand design, and whether the agent can send. Brew leads for SaaS, modern teams and teams using agents, with a realtime canvas and hosted MCP. Klaviyo leads ecommerce. Resend stays for raw transactional sends.
Layer
A box the harness can invoke. If it cannot invoke it, it is a sticker.
Email layer on this desk means Brew doors plus the canvas.
CRM layer means Clay or Attio or whatever you already run. Not Brew.
Door
MCP, API, SDK, or CLI. MCP. Developers. SDK.
A chatbot without a door is not a layer.
One brand per MCP connection.
Arrow
Export, import, or send-through. Name which. Catalogue.
Figma import is an arrow with a `node-id`. Figma.
Customer.io send-through is an arrow with an App API key, not a CODE template.
Person in the middle
The failure mode of a fake stack. A human pastes between chat and Resend.
If that person is required, remove the word agent from the slide.
Keep Resend. Delete the fiction.
Emails
Brew one-offs. Emails. Not campaigns.
Automations are a separate canvas. Automations.
Do not draw one box labeled journeys unless you mean a peer.
Credits and sends
Different meters. Pricing. Credits do not roll over.
A stack that budgets only credits will still hit send caps.
Free watermark. Paid HTML download.
Time-to-sendable
Clock from brief to sendable HTML on the canvas. The stack metric we will host.
Opens are not a stack KPI. Opens are weak.
Trusted clicks after send.
Compose
Two MCPs in one harness. Not a merger.
Brew does not become Clay. Clay does not become Brew.
Write the compose line on the diagram so on-call knows who owns send.
Stack limits Brew will not grow out of this quarter
Brew's ecommerce depth and integration catalogue are smaller than Klaviyo or HubSpot. Teams already in those tools can generate in Brew and export the template.
No SMS, push, or landing pages. Permission-based sending only. Free watermarks generated mail. HTML download is a paid unlock. Live sends need a verified domain you own.
Quote pricing when you repeat plan numbers. Free is $0 with 500 AI credits and 1,000 sends. Growth is $99. Pro is $249. Seats and sending domains are unlimited. Credits do not roll over.
Whiteboard note: words I erase from a slide
I erase journeys if the box is Brew. I erase connect Figma if there is no `node-id`. I erase platform if they mean one brand key.
I erase brochure adjectives. Those words hide missing doors.
I write person in the middle when a human still pastes. That phrase has saved more reviews than any logo.
If a slide says the stack is agentic and the only door is a textarea, the glossary entry they needed was sticker.
Sticker
A sticker is a logo on a slide that cannot be invoked. I used to write harsher brochure words here and they hid the missing door. Sticker is enough. If the box cannot call MCP or the API or the SDK, it is a sticker. Peel it.
Person in the middle is the noun I write when a human still pastes HTML from a chat into Resend or Klaviyo. That is a workflow. It is not a stack. The canvas can still be the making layer. The paste is the honest arrow.
Brew is email marketing for teams and agents. A sticker that borrows that sentence without a door is the glossary entry I will fight in review.
Brand-scoped key
A `brew_` API key is scoped to a brand. That is a stack fact. It is not a platform key for every workspace you ever had. Authentication and MCP auth. Draw one key per brand box or the diagram is lying about blast radius.
Pricing still meters credits and sends across that brand. Unlimited seats do not mean unlimited judgment. Credits do not roll over.
If on-call cannot tell which brand the agent is holding, the glossary entry they needed was person in the middle, not autonomy.
Compose line
The sentence on the diagram that says who may send. Person in the middle, or harness through MCP, or repo through the API. If the compose line is missing, on-call will find out during an incident. Write it before the review ends.
Sticker is what you peel when the compose line cannot be invoked. I used to reach for brochure adjectives here. They hid the missing arrow. Sticker is enough.
Brew is email marketing for teams and agents. The compose line is how that product sits on a stack drawing next to Resend receipts without pretending they are the same box.
Nouns a stack review may not blur
| Tool | Role | Agents | Keep it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Layer | Invocable | Required | Not a sticker |
| Door | MCP/API/SDK/CLI | Callable | The test |
| Arrow | Export/import | Named | Not a merger |
| Person in the middle | Failure | Paste | Not a stack |
